Lore: Livin' On A Prayer
The Gods and Goddesses of Grisbin are as varied as the people and creatures that reside in it. Here is a list of the most important ones in the land:
The Overbeing
Kanrajaas'naya, The Overgoddess, The Triad, She That Protects
The Overbeing is ill-described as a single entity; rather, many of her wisest worshippers proclaim her to be more akin to a force or living knowledge. She was proclaimed to be the highest form of being in all of the cosmos, and is described as having ultimate power. Curiously, clerics of the Overbeing rarely receive their power directly from her; rather, each cleric tends to venerate a single aspect of the Triad.
Kanra
The Superego, The Bane of Thieves, The Queen of Blades
LG
Before her joining, Kanra was a goddess associated with Stars, Justice, and Community. Her clerics were responsible for declaring marriages, defending the weak, and pursuing the enemies of good. Some Kanran clerics specialize in the arts of exorcism ceremonies.
Jaas
The Ego, The Seer, The All-Mother, The Water Ward
NG
Jaas was a good-natured goddess of harvests, healing, water, and charity. Many of the holiest, most incorruptible champions of the Overbeing have primarily venerated the aspect Jaas, and some say Arnd was originally a servant of Jaas before the Overbeing bestowed its power unto him.
Naya
The Id, The Gold-Hearted Thief, The Whip, The Silver Stranger
CG
Naya was once a roguish trickster-goddess, whose domains included luck, travel, freedom. Dwarves proclaim that it was Naya who showed them the art of brewing, so that they would share it and become friends with the other races. Nowadays, most texts neglect to mention her chaotic side and downplay her roll in the invention of alcoholic beverage, at times (and ironically) to enforce anti-drinking law.
There are other gods and goddess that are also venerated in Grisbin as well; many of the Overbeing's faithful simply declare these lesser gods to be mere servants of Kanrajaas'naya, but their followers know better. These gods are ancient and powerful, and are no less able to influence the material plane than their superior.
Cuthbert
The Cudgel, the Taskmaster, The Keeper of Laws
LN
Cuthbert is an ancient deity being whom some believe to predate the existing universe. Legends say that he brought the very first laws to mortals, and that he hears all deals brokered and promises made... and punishes those that break them.
Cayden Cailean
The Braggart, The Drunken Hero, The Lucky Drunk
CG
Cayden Cailean is a younger god that was not worshipped until after the Zoran Xix crisis; leading many to believe that he was once mortal. His followers proclaim that he is an 'accidental god', and that he actually achieved godhood on a drunken bet. He is revered as a god of revelry and companionship, and is known for his legendary sense of humor.
Adversary
The Endbringer, The Phantom, The Nightmare
NE
Although revered by only desperate and the insane, Adversary is said to be the antithesis of The Overbeing and the bringer of doom to all that beseech it. Most folk claim that The Adversary is merely an imagined force intended to spread fear and doubt in The Overbeing's followers. Whether or not this theory is correct, the Adversary's reach can be felt in it the actions of its most depraved believers.
Arteus
God of Black Powder, The Blessed Bomber, Ol' Slugbiter
CN
Arteus is a reinterpetation of an old god, and an unusual one at that: Arteus is a god of firearms and black powder. While originally venerated as a god of war and fire, various gunslingers and other users of slugthrowers and gunpowder have started a kind of strange cult in his honor. Noble gunslingers venerate him and prey to him for luck and glory, while ne'er-do-wells ask him or easy targets and plentiful ammunition.
Marn
Archmage of the Gods, Sorcerer Supreme, The Eye of Truth
N
Marn is an enigmatic god of magic and knowledge, one respected by mages of all skills and castes. His clergy trains and studies on the same level as any arcane guild or school, and less-learned people often mistake his clerics for wizards (although clerics of Marn often receive training in wizardry as well).
Clarion
The Gatekeeper, The Diviner, The Grim Lady
N
Clarion is a grim but important goddess of death, one of the few even worshipers of the Overbeing know of and respect. Often portrayed as an impartial, androgynous figure, Clarion has no concerns about the conflicts of other gods and goddesses: her domain is the judgement of the dead, plain and simple. Her clerics are morbid, cynic people, but recognize the role of observation and fairness in conflict.

Re: Lore: Livin' On A Prayer
I've reopened this thread for the purpose of brainstorming new gods and/or ideads for the Grisbin pantheon. Have at it.
